TITLE: Principal Engineer, Quality Assurance
DUTIES: Provide project management within teams responsible for maintaining systems that support Comcast's Business Class Service sales, service delivery, billing, and care capabilities, including maintaining Comcast Business Voice Edge, a hosted voice and unified communications solution; collaborate with Product and Development teams to understand product and technical requirements; review and verify requirements and design specifications for validity in overall product design, with an emphasis toward product testability and verification; lead the Quality Assurance team in creating and executing test strategies to ensure software is free of defects and performs according to customer requirements; lead investigation processes, including identifying, reproducing, and resolving defects, bugs, or problems, utilizing ALM/Octane in an Agile environment; contribute to the development of quality assurance test philosophies and methodologies, identifying viable test strategies to test product functionality; review literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects; develop and review test cases and detailed test scenarios, monitoring their execution, tracking, and automation; ensure proper execution of regression test procedures and automated test suites and scripts; review project progress, evaluate results, and recommend corrections in technical applications and analysis; attend team standup and planning meetings, reviewing test plans and sprint defects and assisting in prioritization, assignment, and resolution strategies; interview, onboard, and train new team members; assign and review work; and evaluate performance of project team members; provide regular reports regarding project progress to delivery managers and senior leadership; and mentor and guide junior-level QA engineers with regard to practices, procedures, and techniques. In performing duties, travel 10% domestically.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, and seven (7) years of software development project management experience, including leading quality assurance teams in creating and executing software test strategies; and utilizing ALM/Octane in an Agile environment.
