Business Unit:

Job Summary:

Responsible for working with functional teams to collect requirements, data and develop models to determine the trends utilizing a variety of data sources. Manages the data imports, data quality, transformation, or manipulation of data with the purpose of understanding or making conclusions from the data for decision making purposes and documentation of data lineage. Investigates and evaluates new data access requirements for all West data consumers. Approves and audits access to both SQL and NDW platforms. Introduces new technologies and systems to support new and changing business requirements. Develops processes and procedures to drive department efficiencies and self-service solutions to data consumers. Responsible for budgeting, forecasting and managing the operating expenses for the Data Solutions team.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Oversee the creation, development, governance and change management of source of truth Performance Mart

- Ensure training and support is provided for Performance Management products

- Lead and develop team analysts in day to day work and long-term projects and career

- Communicate extensively and constantly with the business to understand needs and ensure products are meeting them

- Partner with division and national data teams to ensure compliance with all data policies and alignment on implementation

- Monitors the development and implementation of new data requirements within our enterprise data warehousing platform (West-only data ingestions). Works with end users to develop specifications.

- Works with our HQ partners to ensure West consumers have all relevant data for their application development, reporting, and analytical needs.

- Decides or recommends feasibility of development projects. Evaluates capacity to implement in-house or use vendors. Assigns approved projects to Business and/or Data Analysts.

- Ensures platform and processes are fully documented and published for users’ review.

Core Responsibilities:

- Develops business requirements, assesses current reporting capabilities, and makes recommendations for improvement.

- Creates actionable insight and understanding, through the analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data, building recommendations that directly address business objectives.

- Plans, develops, and implements data engineering and analytics solutions and technologies, and ensures that sound methodologies are employed. Provides the Company with solid, effective, and efficient systems that are supportable.

- Evaluates all major system modifications and development requests to determine potential benefits and impact on business and information system operations.

- Understands the needs of non-technical internal application users, and maintains strong support relationships with managers, leads, and end- users community in all business areas.

- Identifies possible conflicts with the strategy and recommends cost- effective alternatives.

- Conducts full analyses of changes impacting customers and operations and ensures impacts are accurately integrated into forecasts.

- Carries out post-event analyses to validate forecast assumptions and identifies all additional factors associated with changes.

- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

Job Specification:

- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent

- Generally, requires 5-7 years' related experience

Additional Requirements:

- Experience with SQL Server and writing complex queries is required

- Experience with Teradata in a data modeling capacity is required

- Experience with Cognos in a data modeling capacity is preferred

- Solid understanding of dimensional modeling techniques

- Experience with managing projects is required

- Excellent communications skills with all levels of the organization

- People leadership experience is strongly preferred

- Working knowledge of SSIS and/or Informatica

- Working knowledge of Tableau
