Senior Engineer, BSS Platform Delivery

Job Description

Business Unit:

Responsible for the delivery of BSS Platform utilizing in-depth knowledge of the BSS systems which includes Order Management, Product Catalogue and billing. This involves Managing the agile delivery process. Collaborate with internal and external teams through the delivery process.

Role Overview:

-Lead product design sessions with the development team.

-Create innovative solutions for complex problems, leveraging advanced understanding of engineering principals.

-Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

-Results-oriented, detail-oriented and well organized.

-Work with Solution Architects to remove obstacles, review design, and ensure final product meets the design needs.

-Champion the Agile/Scrum process, scheduling and leading Agile rituals.

-Understand the work being done by the team, helping the teams optimize their delivery.

-Ensure quality presentation of the team's work in the sprint showcase.

-Actively contribute to software development design and coding standards.

-Support cross-functional teams in deploying and maintaining the product.

-Work with Quality, Operations and Release management teams on day to day basis and keep constant communication to ensure smooth delivery to production.

-Tracks development effort and KPI’s

-Demonstrates excellent project management skills, with a proven track record of successful delivery of projects on time, in line with budget expectations and to strategy.

-Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Core Responsibilities:

-Deliver solutions to satisfy business and product needs in near- and long-term timelines.

-Interfaces with other teams owning different functional areas to ensure that most efficient solution is designed to meet business needs; ensures timelines are met.

-Develops, documents, and ensures compliance with best practices including but not limited to the following: coding standards, object-oriented design, platform and framework specific design concerns, and human interface guidelines.

-Ensure proper handoff of requirements from Intake to Development teams

-Ensured Product priorities & roadmap are accurately translated to development priorities

-Influences design and development strategies. Contributes to software design reviews.

-Contributes for review of Test Strategy and Test case design

-Contributes to the continuous improvement of Delivery team processes and standards.

-Monitors the project lifecycle from development to deployment in production operations.

-Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

-Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

-Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


-7+ years as a Delivery Manager/Architect

-Comfortable working closely with development team and being the liaison with the Architects

-Experience creating user stories, grooming a backlog, and managing requirements gathering process

-Experience working in telecom domain

-Comfortable using the Atlassian suite (Jira, Rally, Confluence)

-Experience working in Agile/highly collaborative environments

-Highly motivated and driven with ability to think strategically and take on initiatives

Required Experience:

-BSS Delivery Manager will have 7+ years’ experience with service provider BSS

Preferred Experience:

-Preference for experience with Wireless service providers.

-Bonus points for experience with MSO systems.
-Exposure and knowledge of TM Forum eTOM/SID and TAM models desired but not required.

Education Level:

-Bachelor’s Degree, in Engineering, Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience
