Job Overview:
Internet Essentials is Comcast's signature community investment initiative, designed to help close the digital divide through affordable broadband service, low-cost computers, and digital literacy training, online, in print, and in-person. The Senior Manager for Internet Essentials Communications and Employee Engagement will be responsible for managing the day-to-day internal and external outreach and relationships for the corporate Internet Essentials team.

As one of Comcast's key Values initiatives, Internet Essentials is included in all components of the company's external voice. The Senior Manager will be responsible for helping to craft that voice through various forms of written and spoken communication. The Senior Manager will also be responsible for social media engagement, helping to inform strategy and track results, in collaboration with the Corporate Communications teams. With more than 160,000 employees, the company has an extensive network of Employee Resource Groups and employees already engaged in their communities. This position will be responsible for developing and directing a strategy to work across multiple internal teams at Comcast to increase employee engagement in Internet Essentials. Candidate must be a self-starter, bringing creative and bold ideas to communications and employee engagement.

We are looking for a bi-lingual candidate, with Spanish preferred.

Core Responsibilities:
- Serves as a liaison between the Internet Essentials team, the corporate and internal communications teams, and the Employee Resources Groups
- Serves as the liaison across internal departments for developing and reviewing all internal and external communications and messaging related to Internet Essentials
- Creates and drafts visually compelling narratives for internal and external audiences
- Acts as the liaison with the community, the press, the public, governmental and regulatory authorities, and employees to ensure program goals and information are shared in an efficient and timely manner
- Develops a KPI-driven social media strategy to foster program growth and drive awareness, and develops a strategic vision for social media within the Internet Essentials program and collaborates with Corporate Communications to execute on that vision
- Develops a KPI-driven employee engagement strategy to grow, improve, and deploy the Internet Essentials Ambassador program across Comcast's service area
- Manages the Internet Essentials Ambassador program including developing materials, training employees, and managing/tracking local event schedules to drive employee engagement
- Identifies and carries out areas of growth opportunities for employee volunteers including technical support
- Trains employee volunteers on all aspects of the Internet Essentials program including program enhancements, changes to the website and newly available content
- Manages day-to-day outreach with internal teams, serving as primary point of contact for internal events, employee communications, Ambassador videos, etc.
- Builds and leverages relationships with Comcast's existing Employee Resource Groups at the regional, divisional, and corporate levels
- Serves as project lead for field teams when rolling out new program enhancements with employee groups, and provides timely feedback and recommendations for improvement
- Develops a portfolio of Internet Essentials employee volunteers and identifies a strategy for internally and externally showcasing the volume and impact employees have on driving digital inclusion
- Works with Comcast University to develop mandatory and voluntary training materials for various employee groups within different leadership levels
- Monitors, reviews, and tracks outcomes of Internet Essentials outreach and employee engagement efforts
- Works with the Director of External Affairs and the Manager of Policy, Advocacy, and Events to help plan signature and other events involving employee engagement
- Helps to develop and maintain a network of internal resources that will help operationalize the Internet Essentials vision and strategy
- Provides general project management support when rolling out operational program enhancements and changes
- Provides program expertise and ensure knowledge sharing of best practices with program stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in program execution tactics
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Specification:

- 8-10 years of related experience in communications, PR, digital and social media, community engagement and organizing, politics or political organizing, psychology, social work, government, or other related field
- Bachelor's degree or Equivalent, Master's preferred. Communications, Public Relations, Business

Preferred:
- Bilingual candidate, with Native Spanish or fluent-neutral Spanish speaker preferred, comfortable with handling in-language press interviews preferred. Other bilingual candidates encouraged to apply


Additional Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the research, development, planning, design, maintenance and implementation of policies and programs that enhance the organization's relations with the community, the public, governmental and regulatory authorities, shareholders and employees
- Collaborates with the VP to deliver communications through print, audio and/or video media
- Provides leadership and direction for multiple functional areas
- Manages professionals at manager, supervisor and professional levels
- Ensures appropriate resources to achieve financial and business objectives
- Influences, and shapes and integrates strategy for functional area(s)
- Monitors and coordinates the distribution of the organization's messages through presentations, news or trade media contacts, special events, public speaking, or other means to reach defined audiences and meet specific program objectives

- Collaborates with the VP and management to lead a team that develops, manages, and implements the organization's corporate affairs strategies and policies
- Provides strategic leadership and direction for the Corporate Affairs team that encourages and embraces diversity of thought and drives change with projects and activities
- Works directly with public relations team to develop effective internal and external communications strategies to enhance the organization's relations
- Creates, implements, and achieves realistic, aggressive goals to align with corporate affairs policies and strategies
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary
